THE TRAVEL CONTENT INSTITUTE
Thank you for choosing TCI
Prepare to turn your ideas into purposeful work.

What happens next
Immediately after payment, you receive payment confirmation, your residency dates, travel responsibilities, preparation schedule and a sample lesson. TCI also matches your PayPal transaction to your enrolment submission and sends a welcome email confirming your booked package and dates.
Keep your PayPal receipt for your records. The form submission alone does not confirm your place. TCI’s welcome email confirms your enrolment after your submission and payment have been matched.
Get a feel for the experience
Explore A Day in the Residency to see how you use a brief, fieldwork and review to build your daily video and photographs.
Read Inside a TCI Residency for the skills you practise and an illustrative assignment. Read the short registration details for equipment, travel arrangements and preparation requirements.
Start with the traveller you want to help
While you wait for your registration details, consider one audience and one travel decision your content could help them make. Bring that idea into your preparation rather than assuming an assignment location or filming plan.
Your further residency preparation materials are released in stages, following the schedule below. TCI requests emergency contact details after payment as part of preparation. Complete the post-registration tasks and seven-day preparation so you can use your materials during the residency.
Have a question?
Contact TCI if you need help with your purchase or registration. Include your selected residency and PayPal transaction reference so we can match your enquiry to your payment.
Your materials, from payment to closeout
Your residency materials are released in stages, so you can prepare, practise and build on your work. These materials are included in the total residency price.
| When | What you receive |
|---|---|
| Immediately after payment | Confirmation, your residency dates, travel responsibilities, preparation schedule and a sample lesson. |
| After the voluntary full-refund window | Strong Start access, with lessons released weekly, and Business Kit access. |
| During preparation, before fieldwork | Field Production Toolkit access and its walkthrough. |

The voluntary full-refund window follows the Residency Purchase Terms: it ends at midnight Pacific time on the seventh calendar day after purchase, or when your selected residency begins, whichever comes first.
Your residency dates and travel responsibilities
Spring 2027: London March 23–26; London-to-Paris travel March 27; Paris March 28–31. Paris + London runs March 23–31.
Autumn 2027: London November 2–5; London-to-Paris travel November 6; Paris November 7–10. Paris + London runs November 2–10.
Check your PayPal receipt for the package and season you purchased. You arrange and pay for your own travel, accommodation, meals and Eurostar tickets where applicable. Arrive early enough to allow for delays and settle in. TCI shares the optional recommended train and required Paris arrival deadline in resident preparation.
You can continue to use the supplied links while they remain active. We recommend downloading and saving all materials within 30 days of program completion. Links may be updated or retired as the program changes, so keep your own copies rather than relying on continuing online access.
Sample lesson: help a traveller make a decision
Traveller’s question: “Can a solo traveller visit this attraction comfortably without renting a car?” This is an illustrative teaching example, not a confirmed location, itinerary or completed resident project.
Sample brief: Help a solo traveller decide whether a public-transport journey and walk fit their needs. Define what “comfortably” means for that traveller rather than treating it as the same for everyone.
Sample coverage plan: Show the route from the arrival stop, walking distance, entrance and wayfinding. Record practical obstacles such as stairs, uneven surfaces or unclear signs. Include the return route, with the date and source of any transport information.
Sample finished assets: Plan one edited video and three photographs: the arrival point, the entrance and an important route detail. These are suggested outputs, not finished examples. Your captions and narration should explain what the evidence does and does not show.
Sample review: Can the viewer follow the outward and return journey? Have you shown the obstacles rather than simply saying it is easy? Where evidence is missing, state the limit instead of making a safety or accessibility claim.
