Find a reason this business should hear from you
Pitch Hotels and Travel Brands for Paid Work
Learning goal: Choose a service and identify the clients most likely to need it.
Relevance comes before the email
A generic introduction makes the business do the work of deciding how you could help. Start with an observable detail, a plausible customer question, and a content idea you can deliver.
Separate fact from assumption
Fact: a hotel website describes rooms with kitchenettes. Observation: the public room page has photographs but little demonstration of preparing a simple meal. Hypothesis: some longer-stay guests may want to understand the setup. You cannot conclude that the hotel has poor bookings or that a video will increase revenue.
Worked example: a fictional hotel
Imagine a small hotel offering kitchenettes. Your idea is a short arrival-evening video showing a guest unpacking groceries, using the available equipment, and sitting down to eat. Before proposing specific scenes, verify what is supplied and what filming access could be available.
Build the offer
Use Customer → Problem → Concept → Shots → Business purpose → Invitation. Customer: a traveller considering a longer stay. Problem: uncertainty about preparing food. Concept: show one simple evening routine. Shots: verified kitchen setup, food preparation, meal, and room context. Purpose: help suitable guests assess the room. Invitation: ask whether the business would like a short proposed scope.
Example pitch
Subject: A kitchenette video idea for your longer-stay guests. Hello Marketing Team, I noticed your room page highlights kitchenettes. I create short videos travel businesses can use on their own channels. One idea is a simple arrival-evening sequence showing the available cooking setup and a guest preparing a meal, subject to confirming equipment and access. It could help prospective longer-stay guests understand the experience. My relevant concept samples are in my portfolio. Would a short scope and quote for this idea be useful?
Explain why it works
The email identifies a specific opportunity, describes a service, provides relevant proof, and offers an easy next step. It makes no promise of bookings. A stay, content fee, expenses, usage, and any posting to your own audience would need separate discussion.
Try it now
Review one public business page. Record two verified facts, one customer question, one content hypothesis, and one question you would need to ask the business.
From this lesson to your work
Use the method on your own subject, then complete the skill builder assignment. Keep your planning notes alongside the finished work so you can explain your decisions.
Build work you can explain
TCI develops two kinds of proof: a creative portfolio showing what you can make, and a process portfolio showing how you work.
